Need CELSA Placement Testing?

The Combined English Language Skills Assessment (CELSA) is for students who wish to enroll in an English as a Second Language (ESL) course at PVCC. This placement test evaluates your current English language skills and determines the proper courses that will help you be successful.

The CELSA is a computerized test consisting of 75 multiple choice questions. It is written in English and you will have 45 minutes to complete the test. The test does not have any audio or speaking portions.

How do I take the test?

The test is available on a walk-in basis at the Union Hills campus. We strongly encourage students to arrive at least one hour prior to closing. This will ensure you have enough time to test.

Please bring a current, valid photo ID and your PVCC student ID number when you come to the Testing Center. All exams will be collected 15 minutes before the testing center closes.
