Loretta Mondragon, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs
Loretta Mondragon is the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Paradise Valley Community College overseeing the Black Mountain campus in Cave Creek, Arizona. She is also the Principal Investigator for grants at PVCC and has been active working on out-of-classroom STEAM initiatives and events. Prior to her current position, Ms. Mondragon held leadership positions within the IT department at PVCC.
As a fifth generation Arizonian with family here since 1908, Ms. Mondragon has lived in the Phoenix area all her life. She has worked in education for 30 years and has a deep understanding of the value of education. With multiple degrees, her willingness to learn and share is reflective in the teams she leads.
Ms. Mondragon’s education includes an Associate of Science degree in Electro-Mechanical Drafting and Design from Gateway Community College; a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources - Training and Development from Ottawa University; a Master in Education in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University; and doctorate level work at Walden University in Information Systems Management. She is currently working on her doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership in Higher Education from Grand Canyon University.
Since 2006, Ms. Mondragon has volunteered with the Mission Teaching Foundation, an organization that provides education to indigenous Mayan children in remote mountain villages in the state of Chiapas, Mexico. In addition to international organizations, Loretta participates in many local organizations, most recently a startup team for American Cancer Society-Relay of Life in Cave Creek, AZ and works to support Arizona Best Buddies. She also serves on the Board for Foothills Community Foundation and has been an active member of the Cave Creek/Carefree Nonprofit group.
