Note: Applications received after the posted deadline will not be printed in the Commencement Ceremony Program.

Honors Designation

3.900 to 4.000 With Highest Distinction Gold Honor Cord
3.700 to 3.899 With High Distinction White Honor Cord
3.500 to 3.699 With Distinction Red Honor Cord

If you took classes at another University or 2 Year College in addition to your PVCC coursework which will be applied toward your degree, you must request official transcripts from those institutions and ask that they be evaluated and posted to your PVCC record.

  • Complete Graduation Application (must be signed by advisor) - Graduation Application (Download)
  • Meet with an Academic Advisor to review your application and obtain your check sheet
  • Submit completed application to the Welcome Center

Submit the graduation application and completed check sheet to the Admissions, Records & Registration Office via the Welcome Center prior to the posted deadline dates at:

Applicants will receive notification in their student message center from the Admissions, Records & Registration office regarding application status.
Applicants have thirty days after the anticipated graduation date to remove all academic deficiencies on their record. Applicants who are not eligible for the degree/certificate must re-apply.

Information and Frequently Asked Questions:

Check-In will begin at 5:00pm. All graduates must be checked in by 6:45pm, or you may not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. The venue has no place for storing personal items, please leave items with family and friends. Due to limited space, only participating graduates will be allowed in the check-in area.

Additional parking information will be forthcoming.

Professional photographers will be taking pictures of all commencement participants during the commencement ceremony. The photos will be available for purchase from Grad Images. To complete your pre-event registration, go to Grad Images.

Please note:  Live streaming video, videotaping and photographs will be taken throughout the commencement ceremony.

Participation in the commencement ceremony does not certify graduation or completion of a certificate. Degree and certificate recipients who participate in the ceremony will receive an award cover at the ceremony. Students will receive diplomas and certificates via mail once certificates and degrees are available. Diplomas and certificates will be mailed 8 – 10 weeks after they have been posted to the address listed on the graduation application.

PVCC’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa will have PTK regalia available for purchase. Payment will be accepted at the Welcome Center. Arrangements to pick up regalia can be made by contacting Dr. Stephen J. Nicoloff at stephen.nicoloff@paradisevalley.edu, or Ryan Martin at ryan.martin@paradisevalley.edu.

  • Balloons are not permitted in the venue
  • Caps and gowns can be picked up in the Welcome Center 
  • A reception will be held immediately following the commencement ceremony.
