What is Sustainability?

A widely accepted definition of sustainability is to " the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs" (Brundtland Commission, 1987)

Sustainability is not however solely about environmental stewardship.  As seen by the diagram below, sustainability is truly about a “triple bottom line” that many corporations, institutions and governments are using for their guiding principles.
