As you prepare to leave PVCC, there is a list of action items to consider for a smooth transition.

The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) is a federal law that allows you to continue medical and/or dental coverage at your own cost for up to 18 months. Following your termination, COBRA enrollment materials will be sent to your last known home address. Update your address with the District Office prior to your employment end date. Update your address using HCM Self Service.

Separation

Full Time Faculty & Staff

  1. Employee Submits Written Notification of Intent to Retire or Resign
  2. Chair/Supervisor forwards notification to Administration and Copies HR
  3. HR will work with Chair/Supervisor to submit Retirement or Resignation request in HCM
  4. HR will route the Out-processing Checklist to the employee and supervisor

  • Last Date of Work
  • Last Date in Employed Status ( if using using Personal or Vacation time)
  • Resignation or Retirement Effective Date

When to Contact HR before termination of a temporary employee

PVCC Process – Email Notification from Supervisor to HR that employee is no longer working.

HR will route the Out-processing Checklist to the employee and supervisor
