Coping Mechanisms

  • Create a balanced life by eating well, getting plenty of sleep, and exercise. Don’t procrastinate, which leads to feeling overwhelmed and rushed. Stay organized and create effective time management. 
  • Gain perspective by discussing your problems. By sharing and verbalizing your concerns with a friend or counselor will help give you a sense of control and not feel so hopeless and overwhelmed.
  • Relaxation techniques are beneficial to relieve stress. There are classes or simply sit quietly for 15 minutes and try meditating. Let yourself relax. 
  • Use your mind to create positive and peaceful visualization.
  • Set boundaries – leave unhealthy situations or relationships and learn to say no. 
  • Express your feelings and get in touch with your emotions.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help and seek support.
