Art Exhibits

The Center for the Performing Arts Gallery hosts several exhibits annually including shows by local artists, faculty, and students. All students enjoy the opportunity to exhibit in the Annual Juried Student Exhibition held each April. Artwork created in or beyond the classroom during the academic year is eligible. At this time, the campus art gallery in the Center for Performing Arts cannot support digital or film/video artwork, but it can display framed 2-dimensional work and 3-dimensional work. At the end of March, students should ask their teachers about the schedule for submitting artwork for consideration. Typically, students can enter up to three works for a modest fee. Entry forms are available in the Center for Performing Arts gallery during the drop–off period. PVCC invites a reputable arts professional to serve as a juror and to review the submissions and select artwork for the exhibit and distribute cash prizes.

Students wishing to participate in the Maricopa Community College District art competition, Artists of Promise may submit up to three digital reproductions of recent artwork free of charge for consideration. Submissions are accepted via an online portal and the entry deadline is typically in the beginning of February. The exhibit is held off–campus for a single gala evening at a venue in downtown Phoenix each April and celebrated with a reception. A juror outside of the Maricopa Community College District selects the artwork to be included in the exhibition and designates League of Innovation cash prizes to a handful of artists.

Please be advised: Artwork for these juried exhibitions should present original content, not images copied from the Internet.
