PVCC’s PTK Chapter Recognized for Membership Development

Paradise Valley Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter is thriving and was recently named a 2021 REACH Chapter. The Phi Theta Kappa REACH Rewards program recognizes and rewards PTK chapters that have excelled in membership development.

“We work really hard to continue to engage our students at PVCC,” said PTK Advisor Sheri Bakunowski, on behalf of the team. “We’ve faced even more challenges this year because of the ongoing pandemic. However, it’s just made us more eager to be there for our students in as many ways as possible.”

Throughout the pandemic, PTK has continued its regularly scheduled meetings virtually and has created a robust Canvas presence. In addition, the team has worked on the HIA project in person, following all safety protocols.

“This distinction is even more meaningful during this extremely challenging school year,” Bakunowski said. “Our students are heroes!!”
