We are excited to announce that Mr. Frank Amparo, Paradise Valley Community College’s Associate Dean - Student Affairs, has been selected to join the inaugural cohort of the AACRAO ASCEND Leadership Development Program. As a member of this inaugural cohort, Amparo will participate in a year-long intensive experience comprised of two components: (1) program curriculum focused on the development and application of senior level enrollment and leadership competencies and (2) mentorship. The Program will begin at the 2019 AACRAO SEM Conference and end at the 2020 AACRAO SEM Conference. The curriculum and faculty will focus on four broad-based learning outcomes and their interconnectedness to diversity, inclusion, and leadership:
- collaboration and consensus building around decision making,
- change management,
- data analysis and leveraging technology, and
- financial savviness.

Amparo has been with the Maricopa Community College District for more than 23 years. Currently at Paradise Valley Community College, he is responsible for areas focused on enrollment, including the Welcome Center, student ambassador program, recruitment, testing, Puma Connection Center, and admissions & records. He also serves as the college’s Registrar. He is a member of the college’s Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Team and co-chairs the Tactical-SEM Team for the college as well.
As a first generation college student, Frank's educational background includes an Associate of Arts degree from Mesa Community College, a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University, and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
