Courses

Welcome to Art History at PVCC!

Paradise Valley Community College offers a wide variety of art history and art humanities courses each semester.  These courses include the study of architecture, world famous painting and artists, and where visual art has influenced trends in society and culture, and has changed the world in which we live.

Art History courses provide students with General Education requirements such as:

HU - Humanities and Fine Arts
H - Historical Awareness
G - Global Awareness

Art History courses are geared to a wide-array of interests including:  Asian Art, Modern Art, Photography, and Art Appreciation.  It is recommended that students speak to an advisor for detailed information.

PVCC Fine Arts students can complete their required 100 level Art History courses before transferring to a four-year institution, prepared with the academic skills and background to succeed.

PVCC Art History courses provide all students with opportunities to develop critical reading and thinking skills, and opportunities to engage with the visual arts in the community.
