Secure Your Academic Future Today, Apply for Financial Aid

Paying for college is always a significant factor when determining your academic path. Good news is there are many avenues that can provide financial support for tuition, books, and living expenses, including grants and loans, scholarship awards, and work-study related programs.

First things first - the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the most vital step and will help determine what you need.

To get started:

1.     Determine important dates and deadlines regarding your FAFSA application.

2.     Create your FSA ID and complete your FAFSA application here.

Eligibility requirements for students include:

  • A high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate
  • Enrollment in a degree-seeking program (minimum 16 credit hours)
  • Be a U.S citizen or eligible non-citizen (DACA and Dreamers not eligible)
  • Have a valid Social Security number
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
  • Not be in default on a Federal loan or owe a repayment to the Department of Education

3.     Consider Federal Work-Study programs and earn while you learn.

4.     Do your research and discover scholarship opportunities to help pay for college.  There are scholarship resources out there for all students regardless of immigration status.

Pagar la colegiatura en la Universidad o Colegio Comunitario es un factor determinante en tu trayectoria académica. Lo bueno es que contamos con varias opciones de ayuda financiera para pagar la colegiatura, libros, ayuda de vivienda, incluyendo becas, préstamos y trabajo estudiantil dentro del campus.

Primeramente, tienes que llenar el formulario gratuito de Ayuda Financiera para Estudiantes llamada FAFSA, este es el paso más importante, te ayudará a saber qué es lo que necesitas en el proceso de aplicación.

Para empezar:

  1. Verifica las fechas para aplicar y tiempo límite para completar la aplicación de FAFSA
  2. Crea tu Identificación de FSA y hazlo aqui

Requisitos mandatorios:

  • Diploma de Preparatoria (High School) o certificado de GED
  • Estar registrado en un Certificado o un programa de Asociado con al menos 16 horas de créditos
  • Ser ciudadano estadounidense o elegible (Green card and others..Pregúntanos). DACA y Dreamers no son elegibles.
  • Tener un Seguro Social válido
  • Mantener excelentes calificaciones. (SAP)
  • No estar en incumplimiento de pago de un préstamo federal o adeudar un reembolso al Departamento de Educación de los Estados Unidos

3.     Considera aplicar para el  Programa Federal de Trabajo Estudiantil donde podrás ganar dinero trabajando en el campus mientras estudias.

4.     Investiga y descubre las Oportunidades de Becas que existen para ayudarte a pagar tus estudios. Existen muchos recursos disponibles, sin importar tu estatus migratorio o calificaciones.
