Program Overview

Math plays an essential role in our world. Some sectors and industries could not function without employees who have advanced mathematical training.

If you have a head for numbers and an interest in how math concepts and formulas describe real-world phenomena and make important forecasts, enroll in our Mathematics program. It can prepare you to transfer to a four-year university to earn a bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, statistics, computational mathematical science, or related fields.

After completing your bachelor’s degree, you can work as an actuary, statistical assistant, K-12 educator, or business intelligence analyst. Completing a graduate degree will open up additional employment options, such as a mathematician, statistician, math instructor, or as an analyst in various fields, including finance, data science, cryptography, and scientific computing.

Discover how to make an impact through mathematics and enroll today!

Students at any Maricopa Community College may need to complete courses at more than one of our colleges.

Why Paradise Valley Community College?

PVCC’s mathematics faculty have, on average, more than 20 years teaching experience and are focused explicitly on student learning and helping students to achieve their educational goals. As a PVCC student, you are our number one priority.

We fiercely believe that incurring extra costs for textbooks and required materials should never be a deterrent from getting an education and accomplishing your goals. Therefore, in an effort to keep educational costs as low as possible for our students, our mathematics’ division offers calculator rentals, free (or very low cost) textbooks, as well as free tutoring in the Math Center for PVCC math students. We are here to help and aim to establish a positive rapport with our students. Classroom sizes at PVCC are on average much smaller, giving students that necessary interaction with their instructors.
