Community Health

As the world continues to shrink and populations grow, public health is playing a critical role in keeping our communities and citizens healthy. Rather than focusing on individuals and treating patients once they become ill, the goal of public health is to focus on the community at large to promote good health practices and prevent illness or injury in the first place. It can include conducting scientific research, educating people about health risks, vaccinating children, developing nutrition programs, working on safety standards, and more. If you have an interest in working for the greater good, a career in community health could be your calling.

Our Community Health program will prepare you to join the public health workforce in a variety of industries, including public health, clinics, hospitals, insurance companies, and non-profit agencies. You’ll learn about the dynamics of individual, community, and organizational health infrastructures and critical issues facing community health professionals. Our expert instructors will teach you how to assess social, cultural, and behavioral factors in health, how to apply appropriate technologies, as well as how to implement strategies to improve health outcomes.
