Dr. Anne Suzuki's Retirement

Dr. Anne SuzukiDr. Anne Suzuki has almost 30 years of experience working in higher education at two- and four-year diverse institutions in Academic Affairs and Student Affairs. She served as the Vice President of Student Affairs at Paradise Valley Community College. She has enjoyed working for both four-year universities and 2-year community colleges. She oversaw and developed undergraduate retention and student experiences, along with bridging Student Affairs and Academic Affairs on college initiatives for students. Creating, developing, and sustaining relationships with individuals and building collaborations across campus and between institutions are passions for Dr. Suzuki.

As Dr. Suzuki retires and leaves her legacy in higher education, she would like for her colleagues and friends to donate any amount to the PVCC Student Emergency Fund and or the PVCC Athletic Scholarship and Support Fund. Dr. Suzuki has been a generous donor for years, as she believes giving back to students opens up more opportunities.

Dr. Suzuki Fun Facts:

Hobbies/interests:  travel, trying new foods, hiking, spending time with family and friends…The most interesting place I’ve travelled to-probably China and Portugal.

Is there a song, movie, or book you love?
I love lots of Hawaiian music and 80s. I enjoy adventure movies- Marvel, Star Wars, and the classics- Sense and Sensibility, Henry V and I love mystery books.

Have you participated in any charity or volunteer work?
I am on two Boards: ASU’s West Valley and Boost a Foster Family and have volunteered at so many places.

Why is giving back to students important to you?
Others have helped me my entire life. Education is the foundation for so many things in life and anyone who wishes to get an education should have that right.  I think especially of first gen students and those who are trying to accomplish learning on their own deserve support and motivation to get to their next success.
