Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is pleased to announce that Dr. John Hamblin will be joining PVCC’s leadership team as the new Vice President of Student Affairs. Dr. John Hamblin is a higher education leader with extensive experience advancing student success, equity, and institutional effectiveness within community colleges. Throughout his career, he has led strategic initiatives that strengthen enrollment, improve student retention and completion, and align institutional resources to serve diverse student populations better. Dr. Hamblin joins PVCC from Mt. Hood Community College in Oregon where he has played a key leadership role in advancing student-centered practices, building cross-campus collaborations, and implementing data-informed strategies that support access and achievement for all students.
His work reflects a strong belief that institutions must intentionally design systems that remove barriers and ensure every student, regardless of background, has the opportunity to thrive academically, personally, and professionally.
