Looking to move, breathe, and feel better this summer? Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) has just the thing to elevate your wellness game—without stretching your budget. From May 27 through August 2, for just $80 and one non credit class, students can enjoy all 11 yoga and pilates classes each week. Whether brand new or a seasoned yogi, this is your chance to invest in yourself.
“Both yoga and pilates provide physical as well as mental benefits to create a mind/body workout that targets strengthening your muscles and improving flexibility and balance,” said Tatum Voeller, PVCC Fitness Center director. “We are excited to give the community access to these amazing classes for just a fraction of what local studios charge. Our certified instructors are knowledgeable, helpful, and encouraging.”
And science agrees: According to MindBody, 70 percent of people who practice yoga or pilates report reduced stress, while WebMD notes that 94 percent of yoga participants do it to enhance their overall wellness. So why not make this summer about you?
Not sure which class to try? Try both!
While yoga and pilates may share similar poses and principles, each offers unique benefits:
- Yoga is a centuries-old practice from India that blends movement, breath, and mindfulness to nourish your body and calm your mind. From gentle stretches to more advanced flows, yoga can help improve sleep, relieve back pain, and reduce stress.
- Pilates, a 20th-century creation, zeroes in on core strength, posture, and balance. With small, controlled movements, it’s perfect for toning, building flexibility, and creating strong foundational muscles.
With unlimited access to both yoga and pilates, this is the perfect chance to explore, recharge, and make time for self-care. Whether you're looking to boost your strength, relax your mind, or try something new, PVCC’s summer classes have you covered.
