PVCC GIVES BACK 2022

Paradise Valley Community College’s connection to our local community is as strong as ever. As we continue to move beyond the pandemic, our commitment to building and sustaining strong relationships within the community we live and work in remains steadfast. We continue to nurture our community partnerships and consistently practice social, economic, and environmental responsibilities that align with our college’s vision and values.

Many of PVCC’s philanthropic endeavors this past year include:

  • A favorite amongst the PVCC community is Giving Tuesday, which raises funds for some of the college's most important programs that impact students and their families including: the Athletic Scholarship & Support Fund, Dr. Lois Roma-Deeley Creative Writing Scholarship, Student Emergency Fund, and our new Student Success Scholarship. We want to thank all of our donors for their generosity, as we find better ways to support students in their educational journeys at PVCC and moving forward.

  • PVCC proudly supports the Valley of the United Way campaign and the district-wide effort in creating a "Mighty Force for Change." Our staff and faculty partook in a department basket challenge, in addition to making pledges for United Way programs in our local communities. In total, we raised approximately $4,000. These two initiatives were a great way for our employees to work together to help and assist some of the greatest needs in the Valley.

  • Our generous Pumas always make PVCC’s Holiday Giving Tree a huge success. Partnering once again with the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS), PVCC sponsored 50 foster youth in the DCS Foster Program. Employees went above and beyond, making sure the children in the foster care system were provided for this holiday season, and PVCC President Dr. Tiffany E. Hunter joined in the celebration leading the delivery team to DCS.

  • Partnering with Project Enrich and Arizona Helping Hands, PVCC’s annual holiday toy drive hauled in toys, puzzles, and comfort items like blankets. PVCC’s students donated toys that will help over 40 foster families.

  • PVCC’s Veterans Services Office led the way to winning this year’s Maricopa Veteran Education Taskforce (MVET) Challenge, collecting non-perishable food items and hygiene items to support the homeless population, as well as recently homeless Veterans in need. All donations are sent to the MANA House (Marines, Army, Navy, Airforce), a peer-support organization of homeless and formerly homeless veterans.
