DECA Students Advance to International Competition

Paradise Valley Community College’s newly formed DECA team has had a sensational start to their collegiate career. The small but mighty team formed in the fall with just two competitors - Daniel Scheler and Nick Melchiorre. The two young men competed at the Collegiate Fall Leadership Conference in Scottsdale, with Daniel placing third in Entrepreneurship Operations.

Spring semester, the team added two more competitors - Ciara Camacho and Ben Schueler. Moving full speed ahead, the foursome competed at the Collegiate DECA Arizona Career Development Conference. The state conference was held at Grand Canyon University and included competitors from many of the Valley’s community colleges, as well as our four universities, Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, University of Arizona and GCU. Ciara, Daniel and Ben all placed in their events and move on to April’s Collegiate DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

We couldn’t be prouder of this team of dynamic students. Congratulations!
