This program provides the first two years of a 4-year curriculum for those who wish to specialize in literary and cultural studies. A degree in English literature opens the door to a variety of career possibilities, including education, publishing, writing, pharmaceuticals, medicine, and engineering.

The English Literature program focuses on improving your writing and communication skills for a range of audiences and contexts, focusing specifically on scholarly concepts and conventions within the field of English studies. You’ll put on your critical thinking hat to analyze literature in social, cultural, and historical contexts, as well as genres, movements, national traditions, and themes.
