Janice Podwika, MS

Janice Podwika, MS
Professor Janice Podwika, MS

For over 35 years, Professor Podwika has had the privilege of participating in the health care of a variety of patients. Janice enjoys working with Medical/Surgical patients. Her passion is caring for the gerontological population.

Janice has been teaching Nursing in the Maricopa Community College system since 2006. Her primary focus at PVCC has been to coordinate and teach the Fundamental Students. Janice also teaches and coordinates the Certified Nursing Assistant Program. Her focus is to provide a solid foundation for nursing students.

Janice always enjoyed being a preceptor to nursing students while working as a floor nurse. After moving to Arizona from Illinois, she had the opportunity to become a clinical instructor for Maricopa Colleges. When the opportunity arose to become a full-time classroom instructor, she welcomed the challenge and opportunity to share knowledge and experiences.

Our increasing aging population will require specialized care to include physical, emotional, financial, and spiritual support. The nursing shortage is evident. Janice has had the privilege of providing a sound foundation in nursing to students at PVCC.
