Dr. Felicia Ramirez entered higher education as a first-generation college student at Glendale Community College where she earned her A.A. degree. She was a Marie Sands Scholar and Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University, earning a B.A. and M.A. in Communication Studies. She completed her doctorate in Adult Education at Capella University.

Dr. Ramirez has been a professor of Communication at PVCC since 2005. She teaches Public Speaking and collaborates with students in the honors program to host the Honors Debate at the end of semester showcase. Dr. Ramirez co-authored the book, Speaker’s Manual: A Guide to High Impact Public Speaking. She is Chair of the Critical of Thinking Academy and facilitates the Critical Thinking for Community College Faculty course. Another role that Dr. Ramirez plays at the college is Co-Chair of the Assessment for Learning Team (ALT). Since 2012, she has had the opportunity to work alongside faculty to measure students’ achievements of learning outcomes, design interventions to improve learning, and celebrate student & faculty success in the classroom and beyond.
