Brandy Kinnard-Ortez is our PVCC HR Specialist. She started in September 2019 and was just completing her initial 6 months of on-boarding when the campus closed down due to the pandemic. However, she has risen to the occasion and continues to learn and develop her HR skills, even in a remote environment. Her previous experience includes working for a staffing agency, a law office and for an employee benefits organization. These skills have prepared her for the work of hiring multiple staff and communicating with search committees regarding the remote screening and interview processes. She has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology. This degree combined with her work in a law office gives her a strong background in understanding state and federal laws related to the hiring process. She has three teenagers at home, which is challenging enough. But she also navigated the home-schooling situation that resulted from the pandemic. Good job Brandy!
