Professor Adria Pecora

Professor Adria Pecora has taught art and art history and supervised the Art and Design program at Paradise Valley Community College since 2005. She was part of the team that established the art and technology lab in the computer commons and instantiated the digital arts certificate program in video game design and animation, fall 2020. An experienced online course designer and instructor, Pecora developed a series of asynchronous platforms that are thriving during remote learning. She is in the process of writing a digital guidebook for the study of modern art.

Pecora enjoys supporting extra-curricular creative projects such as Lydia Robb’s paper, “Millais: Paintings and Drawings,” that garnered first-place recognition in the 2019 Honors Showcase and social art projects for Women’s History Month: Taylor Wilson (2017); Patrice Al-Shatti (2016); and Art+Gender (2015).

Her students have achieved recognition such as the League for Innovation National Juror’s Award and the Eric Fischl Vanguard Award. Pecora is a 2021 recipient of the NISOD Excellence Award and a 2018-19 Suanne Roueche Employee Excellence Award.
