Consultations

A consultation with one of our counseling faculty may help you sort out your concerns about a student's personal difficulties; discuss whether and/or how to refer the student to the counseling office; explore alternative approaches; and manage emergencies.

To get started, tell the student you wish to consult with counseling. Explain to the student that the counseling office can provide one-on-one counseling, crisis management and career exploration and development. It is free and private, and due to FERPA laws, no information may be given to parents, faculty, or staff without student’s permission.

If necessary, off-campus service referrals, such as therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists, can be made.
