John Snelling joined Paradise Valley Community College as the Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness in January 2011. He began his career with the Maricopa County Community College District in 2002, serving as Coordinator, Institutional Effectiveness and also Institutional Research Analyst at Estrella Mountain Community College. Additionally, Mr. Snelling has served as a Research Analyst at Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
In these roles, Mr. Snelling helped identify and monitor student success measures for improvement and retention. Through SharePoint Services, he has developed a team site for participants to update, monitor, and report progress related to the college strategic goals and directions. Additionally, he has provided leadership in the Student Success initiative through development of program learning outcomes and analysis.
Mr. Snelling has great respect for education and a passion for education research, teaching, and learning. He is dedicated to making personal connections and constantly strives to help others to achieve their goals. His education includes a master’s in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Technology and Leadership from California State University, East Bay and a bachelor’s in Education from Northern Arizona University.
Mr. Snelling has served on several 21 Century Taskforce Committees and was selected to be a member of the 2010-2011 Maricopa Talent Management – Leadership Advancement Program. He is an active member in the MCCCD Institutional Research Council and has served as the MAT President at CGCC.
