Monsoon Wedding - The International Film Festival

Monsoon Wedding - The International Film Festival

Film is the most popular form of art and entertainment in the world and a wonderful way for us to communicate with each other. This month, enjoy the movies like the old days. Paradise Valley Community College’s Fall 2021 Film Festival will be held in-person this year at the college’s Center for Performing Arts, northeast side of campus. Doors open at 6 p.m.; however, seating is limited for social distancing. All films begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.

This year’s film festival is provided in a dual format, in-person and virtually online. To view from the comfort of your own home, register here. Once registered, a Zoom link will be sent on Monday the week of each film via email.

Monsoon Wedding (R; 2001, India, 114 minutes)

The rain is coming, and so is the extended family in this delightful celebration of life, love and laughter. You are invited to join the festivities as one colorful and eclectic family gathers from all over the world for a traditional wedding – a non-stop, four-day celebration as unpredictable as the monsoon season itself. Anything goes when love, lust, hope and happiness take them by storm and bring them ever closer. With this family, when it rains it pours!

A post film discussion will take place with Gary Zaro, director of the International Film Festival at PVCC and Humanities Professor.
