Nise: The Heart of Madness (NR; 2015, Brazil, 106 minutes)

This film is based on the true story of Dr. Nise da Dilveira, who worked at a Rio de Janerio psychiatric hospital in the 1950s. She refused the demands of her superiors to use electroshock treatments on her schizophrenic patients, and much to her bosses' ridicule she instead begins to use art therapy. The results were groundbreaking and the art so phenomenal that the patients had their own exhibitions in several Brazilian museums.
