Paradise Valley

Welcome! President’s Message

Welcome! President’s Message

Greetings from Paradise Valley Community College.  It is my pleasure to share with you highlights that illustrate the impact PVCC is making locally, regionally and nationally.  Last year was a truly remarkable year and I am looking forward to another exciting and productive year.

PVCC experienced notable growth and accolades this past year.  Many students received awards and recognition in athletics and honors, including 22 NJCAA Academic All-Americans and two NJCAA Region I Championship 2nd place finishes in Men’s Cross Country and Baseball.  Honors student, Michael Guzman, was one of 20 students nationwide to be selected for the Final All-USA All-Academic Team, receiving a full tuition scholarship at an in-state University. Honors student, Savannah Cummins, placed 1st at the Western Regional Honors Conference for her science research project.  In addition, the awarding of a three-year First-Things-First $300,000 grant will provide early childhood training and professional development.

In an effort to meet the growing demand for nursing professionals, PVCC is expanding our nursing program to add an additional student cohort. PVCC continues to have one of the highest successful pass rates for the RN-NCLEX exam averaging 96% over the past five years, exceeding both the Arizona and national average.

It is also my pleasure to introduce Dr. Eric Leshinskie, our new Vice President of Academic Affairs. Dr. Leshinskie comes to us from Glendale Community College where he served for the last two years as the interim Vice President of Academic Affairs. Throughout his career, Eric has been a leader and champion for: faculty professional development, implementation of innovative teaching and learning strategies, leveraging of cutting edge learning technologies, and support of student success and achievement. Dr. Leshinskie will play a key role in building community partnerships.

This year, we invite you to attend our many first-class productions presented by our Music and Fine Arts Departments.  We have Saturday Concerts in our Outdoor Amphitheatre, Musical Tribute Concerts performed by the Union32 Jazz Band, outstanding plays, dance performances, art shows and much more!  All events are open to the public!

Having just completed the celebration of our 30th Anniversary last year, I am reminded of the many important and valued relationships PVCC has with our communities.  Your continued support of the college is very much appreciated and I encourage you to connect with the college in meaningful and substantive ways throughout this year.

Dr. Paul Dale, President
