PVCC Softball had a season to remember and to be proud of in 2018. The Pumas (32-19) had their best season to date, surpassing their previous most win season back in 2015, by an impressive 10 wins.
The Paradise Valley Community College Men’s Golf team finished fourth at the Region I Division II Region Tournament where they shot a combined 1,256 over the four-day tournament. The Pumas were led by Sophomore Logan Gorman who shot a 304, with his lowest round being a 71 on the final day.
South Mountain Community College won the Region Tournament having shot a combined 1,142.
The Paradise Valley Community College Women’s Golf team completed the 2018 season with a fifth place finish at Los Colinas Golf Club, Chandler-Gilbert’s home course. Sophomore Jordan Fife was the highlight for the Pumas when she shot a two-day total of 194, having shot a 94 on the first day of competition.
Puma Baseball (37-21) has advanced to the NJCAA Region I Division II Championship Series and will host #4 Scottsdale this Thursday & Friday at 3pm and Saturday at Noon (if needed).
The Pumas beat out #2 Glendale in three games, while #4 Scottsdale swept #1 Mesa in the first round.
Puma Baseball, the #3 seed in the NJCAA Region I DII playoffs, headed in to the best of three series facing #2 Glendale having gone 0-4 against the Gauchos in the regular season. Facing GCC on their home field, and playing to advance to the finals, the Pumas put on their game faces and took care of business. Dropping the first game to GCC on Thursday, it was do or die for the Pumas on Friday.
