Over the years, many PVCC student-athlete alumni have returned to the Pumas to help coach their former teams. No year has seen as many as does this year. Six PVCC student-athlete alums are serving in some capacity with the athletics department this year. These Puma alumni are helping coach and mentor current Puma student-athletes daily.
With the regular season winding down the Paradise Valley Community College Women's Soccer team retain a 15-0 record and a #2 national ranking. The last time the Pumas were perfect was 2010, a year in which they won their first NJCAA National Championship.
Puma midfielder Shelby Stewart was named ACCAC Player of the week October 3. Stewart had two goals and three assists last week, helping PVCC to a 2-0 record.
Stewart has logged eight goals and nine assists on the 14-0 season so far. Stewart, a sophomore, transferred to PVCC this year after spending her freshman year at University of Utah.

Former Puma distance standout Nico Montanez has been making waves at the NCAA Division I level with his current team, the Brigham Young University Cougars. This past weekend at the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational, Montanez led the BYU team to a dominant victory over several nationally ranked teams.
The Paradise Valley Community College Cross Country teams opened their 2016 season this past Friday at the ACCAC Cross Country Championship meet in Casa Grande, AZ. The Pumas finished third in the women's race, and fifth in the men's.
