Paradise Valley Community College competed yesterday in the ACCAC Cross Country Championship at Glen Lakes Golf Course in Glendale. The Pumas finished second in both the women’s and men’s races, scoring 57 points for the women and 48 for the men. Central Arizona College won both races with scores of 39 on the women’s side and 22 for the men.
The Paradise Valley Men’s Soccer team (4-7-1) is over halfway through their 2018 season. The Pumas are currently eighth in the ACCAC, two spots away from a playoff birth.
The Paradise Valley Community College Women’s Soccer team (7-2-1) is halfway through their 2018 season and currently ranked #20 in the NJCAA National Poll. The Pumas currently sit in third place in the ACCAC behind first place Arizona Western (10-0) and second place Phoenix College (8-1-1), the only two teams that have beat the Pumas. Both loses came in close 2-1 games.
Former Puma Josh Bristyan was named the 2017-2018 ACCAC/Region I Male Student-Athlete of the Year after his specular sophomore season at Paradise Valley. The criteria for the selection is based on academic achievement, athletic ability/achievement, community service and leadership.
The NJCAA National Baseball team roster was announced for the 84th annual National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series. The team includes Puma Sophomore infielder Josh Bristyan. The team has made the trek to Wichita, KS for competition, August 1-11.
