PUMA BASEBALL COACH SOLIS TABBED AS USA BASEBALL ASSISTANT

Puma Athletics is proud to have one of their own, Baseball head coach Victor Solis, serving as an assistant coach for USA Baseball's 15U National Team this summer.  Solis will hit the road, along with GateWay Community College's head coach Rob Shabansky, this weekend.

PUMA BASEBALL RECOGNIZED FOR 2016-2017 ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE BY ABCA

The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) honored 217 college and high school programs nationwide with their 2016-2017 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award.   PVCC Baseball is proud to be among those awarded.  The Pumas are one of only 10 junior colleges recognized, and the only Arizona junior college on the list.

PUMA ALUMNI SELECTED IN 2017 MLB DRAFT

Former Puma Baseball student-athlete Josh Rojas (2013-2015) was selected by the Houston Astros with the 16th pick in the 26th round (781st overall) of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft.  Rojas is the fourth Puma in program history to be drafted.

POST SEASON HONORS FOR PUMA BASEBALL STUDENT-ATHLETES

Four Pumas garnered post season Division II honors this season. The coaches of the Conference, Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) and the Region (NJCAA Region 1) vote on these awards at the conclusion of the regular season.

Sophomore Matt Malkin was named 1st Team All-ACCAC and 1st Team All-Region.

PUMA BASEBALL QUALIFIES FOR PLAYOFFS

The PVCC Baseball team (32-24) has qualified for the 2017 NJCAA Region I Division II Baseball Tournament. The Pumas finished the 2017 regular season strong, winning six of their final nine games to put them in the 3rd seed.
