Women's Tennis has signed three talented players for the upcoming year. The Pumas are adding Tia Silva, Samantha Jo Aley, and Renee Higuera to the roster.
Samantha Jo Aley comes to PVCC from Sandra Day O’Connor High School. She started competing on varsity as a sophomore. During her senior year Samantha played the number one singles and doubles positions on varsity. She is a multi-talented player that also was part of the marching band at O'Connor. Samantha brings great leadership skills and a very high tennis IQ.
Tia Silva comes to PVCC from Millennium High School where she helped her team complete a perfect 6-0 section record and an 11-3 overall season record during her senior year. Tia played number one singles and doubles all season. Her doubles team won the Paseo West Valley Invitational, which featured some of the top teams in the West Valley. Tia has every shot on the court along with a big first serve.
Renee Higuera comes to PVCC after competing for Cactus High School. Her team finished conference play at a perfect 7-0 and qualified for the State Tournament during her senior year. Renee has played on the varsity team since she was a freshman and played number one singles and doubles her junior and senior years. She has a strong work ethic and a winning attitude.
Head Coach Feroz Rast commented on the new additions, “I am so excited to add Samantha, Tia, and Renee to the Puma family for next season. This signing class will complement our returning players and help us become a very strong team. All three players are coming from great high school programs and I look forward to them bringing that winning attitude and focus to every practice and match.”
