The PVCC Women's Soccer team, which recently emerged as the NJCAA #1 ranked team in the nation, ended their regular season with a 3-0 win at Mesa on Thursday and recorded an undefeated regular season 20-0. The last time the Pumas were undefeated in regular season was 2010.
The Pumas scored 91 goals in the regular season and only conceded 11 goals in 20 matches. Sophomore Jamie Iurato leads the conference in both points and goals, while her strike partners Shelby Stewart and Jacey Duncan are among the scorning leaders. The team, backed by sophomore goalkeepers Arielle Perez and Madison Lucas, recorded a conference-leading 12 shutouts.
As the top seed in the conference, the Pumas begin their conference playoffs next Wednesday, October 25 at home in the conference/regional semi-final versus either Arizona Western or Scottsdale Community College. The semi-final game will take place at 2pm at Cindy Shoenhair Soccer Field.
Because this is a Region 1 hosted event, there will be an entry fee charged at Wednesday's game. Adults are $5 and Students/Seniors are $3, children 12 and under are free. We are unable to honor any regular season passes.
Good luck ladies! GO PUMAS!
