Women's Tennis beat Eastern Arizona 5-4 on Thursday to end the 2019 regular season. The Pumas finish off winning two out of their last three matches. They will look to carry this momentum into the region tournament starting April 16.
Starting the day with doubles play, the Pumas were able to win number two and number three doubles. Number two doubles was a thriller as the Pumas fought off their opponents with the score of 9-8(7-5).
Winning two out of the three doubles matches proved to be crucial as the Pumas split singles play winning three out of six matches played. Coach Rast commented, "I am beyond proud of this team. They have worked extremely hard every single day this season. To come back and win against an opponent that we had lost 9-0 to just a few weeks ago shows their growth and work ethic. The work is not done as we only have a few days before the region tournament starts."
The Pumas' will be playing in the Region I Tennis Tournament at Paseo Racquet Center in Glendale, AZ April 16-17.
