The Paradise Valley Women's Tennis team played their last home match of the year on Thursday against conference leading Eastern Arizona College. The result of the match was a 9-0 loss.
The day started with a celebration for the two sophomores on the team, Cheyanna Anderson and Ali Ambriz. The two have been a major part of the success of the program the last two seasons. Cheyanna Anderson was named Freshman Female Student-Athlete of the Year in 2016-2017 and Ali Ambriz finished her freshman season with a record of 10-3. Both have continued to work hard this season and have been leaders on and off the court as they try and push this team to another National Tournament birth.
"I am so proud of the hard work and dedication Cheyanna and Ali have shown to the program. They are not only amazing students and tennis players, but more important they are great all around people. We are going to miss them tremendously, but their impact on the direction of this program will be left for years to come," coach Rast commented.
The Pumas will travel to Tucson on Tuesday, April 10 to play Pima Community College. The match is scheduled to start at 1:30pm.
