The PVCC Women's Tennis team lost two tough matches this week.

The Pumas (2-3) played Eastern Arizona College on Tuesday at PVCC and lost 9-0. The match had closely contested matches especially by sophomores Leah Bookbinder and Calli Chance whom both lost their matches in thrilling three-setters. Calli lost her match 4-6,6-4,10-7 and Leah lost her match with a score of 6-3,4-6,11-9.

The Pumas looked to bounce back on Thursday when they hosted the visiting Aztecs from Pima Community College. The result of the match was a 6-3 loss. Sophomore Leah Bookbinder again played a thrilling match as she was the last match completed. She lost a hard fought contest 6-3,6-4. The doubles team on Calli Chance and Samantha Aley won a great match 8-6.

"This week was a great learning experience for us. We know that we can certainly do better and the ball just did not bounce our way in either match this week. We will look to continue to work and improve. I am very proud of the way my team handles challenges and I look for them to bounce back stronger for our next match." said head coach Feroz Rast.

The Pumas have a busy week coming up. The Pumas play host to Arizona Christian University on Monday, Mesa Community College on Tuesday, and New Mexico State on Thursday.
