The NJCAA National Baseball team roster was announced for the 84th annual National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series. The team includes Puma Sophomore infielder Josh Bristyan. The team has made the trek to Wichita, KS for competition, August 1-11.
While at PVCC, Bristyan was awarded the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award® in both his Freshman and Sophomore years. He was the third Puma to receive the award. A 2016 graduate of Horizon High School, he was named to the 2018 NJCAA Division II Baseball First Team All-American Team. He was also named First Team All-Region and All-Conference for his outstanding sophomore season. Bristyan led the Pumas with a .387 AVG, securing 84 hits in 217 at bats. He also posted a .976 fielding percentage in 59 games for the Pumas. He led the NJCAA with 178 assists and posted 112 putouts on the season.
The NBC World Series is being held at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium which has hosted the event since 1935. The NJCAA team finished fourth in 2016 with a 3-1 record and was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Team.
