Sophomore Israel Oloyede won the Weight Throw competition at the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Pittsburg, KS with a throw of 20.89m. Oloyede’s throw not only won the National Title, but he also broke his own NJCAA and School Records while setting a new NJCAA Indoor National Championships meet record.
Oloyede’s 10 points for the Pumas helped the men's team to a 23rd place finish.
On the Women’s side, the Pole Vaulters scored all 9.5 points for the Pumas, leading them to a 16th place finish. Freshman Lily Standley led the vaulters with her third place finish. Standley’s jump of 3.55m (11’7.75”) was a season best for her. Sophomore’s Karli Fawcett and Stephanie Casaus finished tied for sixth and eighth respectively, both jumping 3.20m (10’6”).
