Sophomore Israel Oloyede broke the NJCAA National Record in the weight throw at Northern Arizona University’s NAU Tune-Up in Flagstaff on Friday.  Oloyede’s throw of 20.45m (67’01.25”) bested Johnnie Jackson of Coffeyville Community College's (KS) February 2015 record of 20.35m (66’09.25”).

Oloyede, who also holds the event's national top spot in the NJCAA, has improved his mark every meet this season. He will next compete at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships in Pittsburg, KS March 1-2, where he will be the top seed in the event.
