The PVCC Women's Tennis Team won 5-4 against Glendale Community College last Thursday.

The Pumas (2-0) started the day with a strong showing in doubles as they won two out of three. Needing three more points to clinch the victory, the Pumas battled on all six courts and were able to win three out of the six matches in singles. Highlights of the day were the play of sophomores Calli Chance and Baylee Decker as they dominated, winning in straight sets. Sophomore Leah Bookbinder lost a heart-breaker in three sets as she lost 4-6,6-3,10-4. Freshman Tia Silva continued her strong start to the year winning her singles and doubles matches in dominating fashion.

"Great team win today. I am very proud of how we handled our first road test this season against a strong Glendale team. We knew that playing a region opponent on the road was going to be difficult and we came with the right focus today," said head coach Feroz Rast.

The Pumas' next match will be against Dixie State University on Tuesday, March 12 at 4pm.
