After beating Scottsdale on Sept. 26, the women played in their fifth overtime game of the season against Cochise on Sept 28.
On Sept. 26, the Pumas traveled to SCC and picked up their first win of the conference schedule. Mari Labansat started of the scoring with a penalty kick in the first half. Diana Sanchez added to the lead in the early minutes of the second half to make it 2-0. Bridget Briss completed the shutout with five saves on the night.
On Sept. 28, after scoreless first half against Cochise, freshman forward Diana Sanchez opened up the scoring with her seventh goal for the season. Late in the game, Cochise scored the equalizer sending the game into overtime. After an additional 20 minutes the game ended in a tie. The Pumas' overall record now stands at 6-3-3, 1-1-2 in conference play.
The Pumas will return to play with a Thursday afternoon home game on Oct. 3 vs. Gateway Community College. Kickoff is at 1:00pm. On Saturday, Oct. 5, they head to the south valley to take on South Mountain Community College at 9:00am. The Pumas won both non-conference showdowns against these opponents earlier in the season.
