30 Years of PVCC

President's Message

As we commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the dedication of Paradise Valley Community College, we are honored and proud of the remarkable achievements of students and employees current and past who have made this institution a dynamic learning environment for the community.

PVCC was founded by the Maricopa County Community College District as the Northeast Valley Education Center in 1985, with classes being temporarily held at Paradise Valley High School. Construction of the campus started in 1986 and then was dedicated 30 years ago, with classes starting Fall 1987 with an enrollment of 3781 with 35-40 staff members.

Paradise Valley Community College is an integral part of building thriving communities in north Phoenix, north Scottsdale, Carefree, Cave Creek and northern Maricopa County. Over the course of 30 years, Paradise Valley Community College has served higher education needs of 166,889 north valley students and has conferred over 13,513 degrees and/or certificates.

Recently Paradise Valley Community College has been recognized by the Aspen Institute as a Top 150 College in the United States based upon student success and transfer rates three years in a row. We look forward to continuing our commitment to the community into the future.
