John Snelling joined the Administrative Team at Paradise Valley Community College in January 2011 as the Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness. John began his career within the Maricopa County Community College District in 2002 where he served as Coordinator, Institutional Effectiveness and Institutional Research Analyst at Estrella Mountain Community College. Additionally, John has served as a Research Analyst at Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
In these roles, John has assisted the colleges to identify and monitor student success measures for improvement and retention. Through SharePoint Services he has developed a team site for participants to update, monitor, and report progress related to the college strategic goals and directions. Additionally, he has provided leadership in the Student Success initiative through development of program learning outcomes and analysis.
Mr. Snelling’s education attainment includes a Masters of Science Degree in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Technology and Leadership from California State University, East Bay and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Northern Arizona University. John has great respect for education and a passion for education research, teaching, and learning. He is dedicated to making personal connections and constantly strives to help others to achieve their goals.
John has served on several 21 Century Taskforce Committees and was selected to be a member of the 2010-2011 Maricopa Talent Management – Leadership Advancement Program. He is active member in the MCCCD Institutional Research Council and has served as the MAT President at CGCC.
