    • Witney and Amanda checked on the boxes located at various Rio Salado locations. Donations were very few, so Witney will be contacting the heads of the colleges to see what can be done to increase donations.

    • Australia Fire Awareness --We will also will be spreading awareness about the Wildfire in Australia by telling people to visit the Australian Outback Plantation on January 25th to donate money for the inhabitants and he will give you a free plant, and if they cannot make it they can donate to this.

  • Witney- Fundraising Coordinator:
    • Discussed the ReLab meeting on Friday 11/22
    • Email sent to all of PTK about how we need resources
    • Charity event- on Black Friday 11/29, the Fry’s on 14th St and Bell will be having a box sale. With a Fry's account, members can purchase a case of meals for $1 with a limit of 10 per account. Volunteers and money donations needed to maximize this opportunity. All food will be donated to the Veterans Food Drive. 
    • A PTK member is needed to go to the Student Government meeting on Tuesday 12/3 from 2-3pm as we need a representative to attend in order for them to approve our funding request.
    • Phoenix Union and Glendale Union were contacted about ReLab. Waiting for responses. 
    • The official function form for expenses regarding ReLab has been filled out. The total cost is about $600.
    • We need to locate PVCC’s PTK tax number from Janet.
    • ReLab has been officially dubbed a co-curricular for honors.
    • PTK can earn uncapped money for travel. To do this, we need to earn “points” by participating in/ putting on events, taking a picture to prove our presence, and writing a short write-up on the experience. 
  • Jon - Guest; part of ReLab: 
    • $1600 worth of donated items, gift cards, and services have been accumulated for the silent auction/ drawing prizes that will be put toward the micro scholarship we will be funding in the spring.
    • Phoenix needs letterhead/ EIN number.
    • Barro’s Pizza has offered to do a fundraising night with a portion of their profits going to PTK.
    • Brianna- Recruitment Officer:
      • Requested that PTK have its own canvas page for easier access for students.
      • Requesting list of members.
      • Majors, emails, and ages
      • Dr. Nicoloff will check what is allowed to be shared and send over what he can.
      • Pamphlets and recruitment cards requested to hand out.
      • Makaila- President:
      • Invited PTK members to advertise PTK at the SHAC meeting, thursday 12/5 from 3-4pm.
      • The campus has been contacted to set up a Canvas page.
  • Sheri- Advisor:
    • Went to GCC’s PTK meeting on 11/21.
    • GCC is not allowed to fundraise.
    • Student Life has a $2000 commitment to them.
    • They buy regalia in bulk and sell it at full price for funds. (We do this but not at induction ceremonies like they do.)
    • Requesting help from PTK members to organize the PTK binders over Spring Break to update them. 
  • Nicoloff- Advisor:
    • HIA write-up is due on January 16th. He will meet with Shyla and Witney to talk about this and plan.
    • Will meet with Makaila to discuss the chapter becoming a 5-star chapter

    • Shyla-HIA Coordinator: We will be changing the former HIA project to the lab box project (named ReLab). The old HIA project will now become the college project.
    • Witney-Fundraising Coordinator: 
      • Chemistry department heads and book shops were contacted.
      • In the process of contacting the Phoenix Unified School District where we will be donating the recycled lab materials. 
      • Lots of support and volunteers from the sustainability expo.
      • Logo for project in progress. Will be put on buttons, shirts, and stickers for exposure.
      • Spring- emergency fund scholarship (ongoing micro scholarship). Will be funded either through auctions, drawings, or both. Currently looking for stores and restaurants to donate supplies for these. 
    • Jack- Public Relations Secretary: Took pictures at the induction ceremony and in the process of adding them to the Band page.
    • Sheri- Advisor: In the process of making PTK t-shirts.
    • Amanda: Recording Secretary: Read last meeting’s minutes.

 

  • New Member- Brianna De La Riva 
    • Running for Recruitment Officer
    • Gave a speech about her qualifications and plan to reach out to high schoolers enrolled in dual-enrollment programs.
    • Elected Recruitment Officer by unanimous vote.

    • Shyla and Makila- Update on recycling on campus: contacted the school to ask what percentage of recyclable material is actually recycled. Will have to contact a third party to get information.
    • Steph- No new volunteer positions; proposed the idea to start a community garden
    • Witney- Veterans Appreciation Week: 11/11 to 11/15 with on-campus activities; Proposed a silent auction for fundraising (sell tickets for drawings to win donated items/campus necessities); Proposed idea for College Project: Collect online lab supply boxes and donate to underfunded schools while selling or recycling extra materials.
