Music at Paradise Valley Community College

Free Summer Camps, Events, Workshops, and Performances


Music Summer Camps:

FREE for all participating students; taught by college and high school music faculty and guests

  • 9:00am-3:00pm daily, with a 45-minute lunch break. recommended for 14ys – 18yrs
  • Students are to provide their own lunch, snack and water bottles
  • Taught in the Center for the Performing Arts Music Room (CPA115)
  • Reservations are REQUIRED to attend any of the summer camps
  • Reservations for all summer camps open for online registration on Tuesday, May 2nd

May 31st – June 2nd (3 days): Music Theory Boot Camp, Limited to 15 students
June 6th – 9th (4 days): Songwriting and Music Production Camp, Limited to 15 students
June 13th – 16th (4 days): Jazz Camp, 9:00am-3:00pm, Limited to 15 students
June 20th - 23rd (4 days): Vocal & Choral Singing Camp, Limited to 20 students
June  27th – 30th (4 days): Musical Theater Camp, Limited to 20 students

PVCC/PVUSD Color Guard Camp

Paradise Valley Community College and Paradise Valley Unified School District

  • July 11-July 15 (5 days); 9:00am-3:00pm daily, with a 45-minute lunch break
  • FREE for all participating students; taught by college and high school music faculty and guests;
  • Recommended for 14ys – 18yrs or high school instructor recommendation
  • Students are to provide their own lunch, snack and water bottles
  • Taught in the Center for the Performing Arts  Main Stage and M-East Bldg, Studio Theater

Color Guard is a combination of the use of flags, sabers, mock rifles, and other equipment, as well as dance and other interpretive movement. During this summer course the students will work on basic movement and equipment skills through fundamental studies.  This will prepare them for their high school marching band and also provide them skills that they can take and use in many different forms of dance.
