A football donated by the Arizona Cardinals will be auctioned as part of a fundraiser being held by the Phi Theta Kappa Chapter of Paradise Valley Community College.
Gozie Ibeji, president of the PTK Chapter, said, even though “media hype has died down… people are still having trouble in Haiti.”
The Arizona Cardinals presented an autographed football to the PTK chapter after receiving a letter asking for a donation. It will be auctioned off and all money from the auction will be sent to Haiti relief.
Ibeji says they are shooting to start the auctioning the week of March 22. The word will be spread through word of mouth right here on campus and on sites such as Twitter and eBay.
“We want to open it up so that even people in New York can get the football,” said Ibeji
In addition to the auction, tables will be set up and even those who can’t afford to buy a novelty sports item can donate any amount of money they’d like. |
