DANCE-- I am traveling internationally in the USA & Europe performing, choreographing, coaching, and teaching dance. I also teach out of 2 local dance studios in Arizona. Fatcat Ballroom & Dance Company on 32nd Street & Thunderbird in North Phoenix and Paragon Dance Center on Rural & Elliot in South Tempe. I work with kids from ages 4 to adults in their 80's. Currently, I am training with my dance partner, Tara Trafzer from California for the US Open Swing Dance Championships in November.

TECHNICAL THEATER-- I am currently employed as an overhire electrician, carpenter, and stage hand for many theater companies in Arizona, including Phoenix Theater, Childsplay Theater Company, Scorpius Dance Theater, Center Dance Ensemble, Davis Entertainment, and Arizona Broadway Theater.

Academic/Workforce status after PVCC: Received Bachelors and Master from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. Graduated with a Bachelor in Broadcasting and Journalism and a Masters in Mass Communication Currently working for the City of Gilbert in Journalism.  She continues to dance as well.

MUSIC:

Heather Anvik
Major/Program of Study at PVCC: Graduated with Associate in Applied Science in Music Business
Attended: 2002 - May 2006 (concurrent High School student) and 2008-2009.
Academic/Workforce status after PVCC: I attended Belmont University in Nashville, TN from August 2009 - December 2011 and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Music Business with a Production emphasis. I spent my final semester with Belmont University in New York (they have an extension program called Belmont East) interning at ASCAP and taking classes. After graduation I returned to New York and have been living here since then.  I found a job at Dial Global (now WestwoodOne) two months after I graduated and have worked here from February 2012 to the present. WestwoodOne is a Radio Network company that provides content and advertisements to over 8,200 radio stations around the country. I started at the company working in the Customer Service department, and now work in Market Research.

Academic/Workforce status after PVCC: I am a casual technician for PSAV Presentation Services and do A/V work for valley resorts and business hotels; my home base is Pointe Hilton at Squaw Peak where I am an Event Coordinator. I am also a free lance live sound/ recording technician as well as professional musician.

I recently became a member of the eye lounge artists collective on Roosevelt Row in Phoenix and have already participated in my first group show. I am looking forward to more group shows as well as my first solo exhibition to be held in March '14.

I've just participated in my first month long, two person invitational exhibition "Silver Blue" at the R. Pela Contemporary Art Gallery on McDowell Road in Central Phoenix.

My work has been included in publications including: Paperclay Art and Practice by Rosette Gault (educational/ ceramics), Superstition Review; ASU’s online literary magazine (Issue 9)

Awards include: Emerging Artist Award from Juror Kurt Weiser -ALL AZ CLAY Exhibition '13., Best in Show - AAG "Body of Work" Exhibition '12, Honorable Mention - Professional Artist Magazine's Portrait contest '11, Professional Development Grant - Arizona Commission on the Arts '11
