Our Mission

The mission of the PV Education program is to inspire and prepare knowledgeable and professional educational leaders who advocate for positive change within diverse communities.  We are dedicated to developing collaborative relationships while engaging students through rigorous and relevant learning-centered opportunities.

Early Childhood Education Program at a Glance

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
- Nelson Mandela

PVCC EDU not only offers a degree and career path, but the opportunity to truly make a positive change in the world around us.

Here in the Education department we foster and equip our teacher candidates with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to implement ever-lasting change in their future classrooms and communities. Every EDU class is learner-centered and includes active student engagement.  All classes include field trips, service learning, guest presenters, presentations, and more!

Additionally, the Education department offers a multitude of opportunities to get involved on campus and in the community. From High School Outreach and  Structured Autism events to Future Educators Conferences and the Festival of Tales, these activities will enrich your life personally, academically, and professionally.

Student Testimonials
  • "Because of my experience in EDU 221 and the VIPCC program I have gained information and experience I couldn't learn anywhere else.  It has solidified my desire to be a teacher.  The chance to be mentored by an incredibly skilled teacher is amazing and everything I could ask for!"

  • "Having a chance to work with students in a classroom environment and get advice and tips from a teacher working in PVUSD is more than I could have asked for from a program.  I get to learn a lot from experiences of my own and those of my teacher."

  • "Because of this program I am able to observe a real classroom, work with students and gain experience that will be useful when I start student teaching.  It's so beneficial to me so I won't be overloaded with information when I start working in a class as a teacher."

  • "The impact the VIPCC Program has had on my learning has been incredible. I am able to get hands on time with teachers and students currently in schools I will be applying for."
