Guitar for Teens: Group (Ages 13-16)
In this class, students will launch their creativity and gain musical skills for guitar; skills that will complement other music learning. Emphasis is on chord-based accompaniment. Students must bring their own guitars. Acoustic and electric guitars are welcome. Students with electric guitars should bring a small, battery operated amplifier. Text, Modern Guitar Method is available in the PVCC Bookstore.

New! Let’s Talk Drums! (Ages 13-16)
Join us for a hand percussion class that teaches the basic rhythmic expressions for most all popular music today. Hand drums, djembes and a variety of percussion accessories provided for in class use only.

Private Music Lessons: 8 hours (Ages 13-16)
Learn, enhance or perfect skills with the instrument of your choice in one-on-one lessons. Instruments can include, but are not limited to, guitar (bass, electric or acoustic), brass, woodwinds and keyboard. You must provide your own instrument and bring it to the classroom. Basic Photography for Teens (Ages 13-16)
This class will go through basic camera and photo operation for the beginner, and all levels are welcome. We will emphasize using the camera to ‘see’ photographs and go through basic composition and exposure. Photographic assignments will be given to hone skills. Cameras must have the ability to be manually set and turned off of ‘auto’. No point-and-shoot or cell phone cameras. Bring your manual to class.

Youth for the Environment and Animals (Ages 13-16)
Young adults can truly make a difference and improve their world, when they are informed and empowered. Actively learn about the issues affecting your community. Take part in a creative and supportive group where your participation will inspire others. Explore the options, exchange ideas and develop goals from the perspective of a global citizen. Use your individual talents and enthusiasm to implement meaningful service projects that connect your passion and knowledge with local and global concerns. Demonstrate effective ways to promote a compassionate, sustainable world for people, animals and the environment. You will have the opportunity to design and produce your own community project through a variety of resources and networking opportunities. The possibilities are as boundless as your imagination! During this 2-part workshop series, teens learn essential life skills that promote confidence, empowerment, and resilience. Drawing on research from positive psychology, this course is designed to teach teens how to develop and sustain a thriving mindset – one of the critical keys of long-term happiness and success. In a safe, interactive environment, they’ll learn practical strategies for bouncing back from common challenges and making positive choices while gaining tools to build a strong sense of self-worth.

Cooking Camps for Teens (AGES 13-17)
Learn how to make a meal each day plus cooking techniques and skills that can be applied at home. Towards the end of each class, sit down and enjoy the meal you prepared. A lot of fun and great way to meet new people, stay indoors, and beat the summer heat! Each session is Monday through Wednesday. Cost is $100 per three-day session and includes the cost of food.
