Basic Photography for Everyone
This class will go through basic camera and photo operation for the beginner, and all levels are welcome. We will emphasize using the camera to ‘see’ photographs and go through basic composition and exposure. Photographic assignments will be given to hone skills. Cameras must have the ability to be manually set and turned off of ‘auto’. Bring your manual to class. No class July 5.

Basic Digital Photography Techniques (Digital SLR)
Learn basic digital photography techniques. Learn how to get your camera off ‘program’ or ‘auto’ mode for better pictures. This class offers the opportunity to learn use of shutter and aperture modes for more effective images. Learn proper exposure metering techniques, depth of field, use of filters, flash as well as better composition and travel tips. Student’s cameras must be a digital ‘single lens reflex (SLR) that can be set manually and have interchangeable lenses. No point and shoot cameras, please. Please read your instruction book and bring it and your camera to class. Field trip (to be announced) will be on Sat, June 19 from 8:30-11:30am. Students must provide own transportation and admission fee.

Digital Photography Essentials
Designed for those who have just purchased a point-and-shoot or DSLR digital camera or looking to purchase one in the near future. This beginning class covers basic functions, terms, assessing the camera and what features are best suited for your needs. We will also discuss and compare differences between a point-and-shoot and DSLR as well as choices of lenses. A handy, comprehensive booklet will be provided.

Digital Photography and Photo Enhancing
Learn the basic as well as advanced features of a digital camera in an easy-to-understand, simple language. We'll be discussing the principles behind the symbols in the camera and their functions as it relates to improving your photography skills. Also covered is a hands-on approach using tips and tricks and user-friendly photo-enhancing software to achieve great looking pictures. Some time will be allocated in class for picture taking and one-on-one help for those who need it. Please bring a digital camera and owner's manual. A handy, comprehensive booklet will be provided. Digital Photography Basics
With lecture, demonstration, and homework, this class describes the basic digital camera settings for use under most shooting conditions. Image file transfers and basic computer file navigation are also covered. This class provides the student with the background needed to purchase (or upgrade to) the best digital camera meeting individual needs. This class will also cover: pixels (how much is enough), image formats (JPG, TIF), digital versus optical zoom, focal length, color balance, and ISO settings. Basic editing, storage media, printing, e-mail and web options, archiving, printing and photo paper are also discussed.

Intermediate/Advanced Digital Photography Experience
This class is a follow-up to any basic digital photography class and involves much more detail into the camera settings and associated shooting conditions. Students will be given assignments to shoot pictures of individually preferred subject matter and apply the variation of camera settings specific to the various shooting conditions. Students should bring cameras that have manual or semi-automatic settings and the owner’s manual to class. The student will become intimately knowledgeable of their digital camera settings and when to use them to achieve the best quality photograph.

Custom WB and Camera Raw Workflow (Int/Adv)
In this class the student will learn how to use custom white balance, camera RAW, and color space in order to produce the highest quality photographs at the high end amateur and semi-professional levels. Achieve perfect skin tones, perfect color balance, and optimum editing. You will also learn about workflow and how it covers the process of shooting with custom or preset WB and camera RAW followed by conversion and editing in applications such as Photoshop Elements or CS (or other compatible editing applications).
